SON SAYS:

This volume is about a daughter, Doyli, who saves monkeys in the Amazon woods in Republic of peru. There is too lots information and pictures that show what life is similar in the Amazon forest. The photos were skillful and the monkeys were adorable. My favorites were the ones of the animals and the forest. I really liked the function where the monkey thief gets caught past the police and they put him in jail. I liked learning nigh Doyli and how she rescues monkeys.

It seems like living in the Amazon can be unsafe because at that place are snakes and caimans and jaguars and that there are a lot of monkeys. They travel in canoes on the Amazon and they go their water from the Amazon. I also learned near how they are cut down all of the trees in the Amazon and that is a very bad thing. The book also says that sometimes the kids tin can't afford to go to school. That'southward sad.

Information technology was a very interesting book. I like books near facts and specially books about animals, but I don't like it when they mix facts with a story, then I would give it 4 stars. I think monkeys would like this book – just kidding! I think kids who are young like, younger than me, and their parents would like this volume (and people who similar monkeys).

MOM SAYS:

Doyli to the Rescue: Saving Infant Monkeys in the Amazon is a visual delight! The images and layout of the book are absolutely spectacular and you can't help just fall in love with the immature activist and animal rescuer, Doyli. This book has tremendous educational value, is visually stunning, and Doyli is such an amazing inspiration and function model for tweens. I highly recommend this book to children ages 3 to 8 and I believe this book would make a cracking addition to a schoolhouse classroom or library.

DOYLI TO THE RESCUE: SAVING BABY MONKEYS IN THE AMAZON is a winner by any measure. The target audience is aptly described equally fourth- and 5th-graders, who will discover that the photos and text are not merely accessible just intriguing and appealing.
Doyli'due south smiling face will brand her experience like a friend from the start. Her life is one that could announced alien and distant, but instead reveals relationships, activities, and interests that are both familiar and heady.

Doyli's smiling face will make her feel like a friend from the starting time. Her life is one that could appear alien and distant, but instead reveals relationships, activities, and interests that are both familiar and exciting.
Burnham'south photos are highly professional person but also have a candid quality that advise a family photograph album. Doyli'south engagement in a wider community, including school, the marketplace, and interactions with various friends and relatives encourage high level discussions with readers to compare and contrast Doyli's life to their own.
The WAKA site indicates teaching guides and other resource are in the offing, as are subsequent titles in this serial. Guides aren't necessary to begin using this immediately. The book design offers every aspect of nonfiction reading described in the Mutual Cadre State Standards, including pic captions, maps, conspicuously labeled species, specific vocabulary and back matter.
This book will definitely jumpstart further enquiry into global locations, biomes, endangered species, interventions, and local issues.
In my opinion this book volition intrigue and interest readers of any historic period. I look forward to coming together the young heroes in titles yet to come.

This is a great teaching book, ideal for classrooms (and homeschooling projects), with its focus on wild fauna conservation, grassroots efforts by kids, and the overall importance of doing the right thing, especially to help others (in this case, orphaned baby monkeys) unable to help themselves.

The engaging story is not overly preachy, simply makes its betoken by showing Doyli, a young daughter in the Amazon rainforest region of Peru, going most doing what she does: doing chores, going to school . . .
