The thing about Mandala though is boy-oh-boy does it come with a lot of yarn per skein. 590 yards to be verbal. To brand this like shooting fish in a barrel crochet pillow pattern today, we'll be doing two key things to achieve the chunkier, ombre expect in the samples.

• First, each pillow front is fabricated with iii strands of Mandala yarn held together. This makes the projection cruise by quickly and gives you an fairly sized cantankerous stitch "grid" to work with.

• Secondly, you'll want to cut and reattach your yarn after a few rows of each color in gild to accomodate all the colors in the skein in one pillow front. You'll cease upwardly with plenty of leftover yarn that you can use to crochet more than pillows!

• The ombre look of the samples was achieved past cutting Mandala yarn after a few rows were worked in a colour and reattaching at colour, working a few rows and reattaching at next color. ATTACHING PILLOW BACKS

There are plenty of ways to add a bankroll to a pillow front and I'll prove you lot what I think is the easiest option. Y'all could too crochet a second pillow front to use every bit a back or create more of an envelope opening using fabric or crocheted pieces. (See this free crochet mud textile pillow pattern for an idea of how to create an envelope backing, which is not bad if y'all want to remove the pillow encompass periodically.)

To create a unproblematic fabric pillow bankroll, cut a square of fabric that is approximately ane″ larger on the meridian and lesser than your pillow front end. So if your finished pillow front is fourteen ten 14″, cutting a 15 x 15″ piece of fabric.

Utilize an iron to press a half inch of material over on each side every bit pictured beneath. Press corners into sharp points.

Fabric squares with pressed edges will become the backing for simple crochet pillows.

With right sides of pillow front and dorsum facing out, identify pillow form in between. Use safety pins or straight pins to secure in place.

Crochet pillow front with a fabric backing. This is a simple way to add a back to a crochet or knit pillow.

Using a doubled over strand of Mandala yarn and an upholstery needle (this is basically a sharper tapestry needle), sew together a basting stitch around edge of pillow. In the sample, my stitches were nearly .75-one″ autonomously. As y'all can see below, the sewing yarn will be visible on both the front and the back of the pillow, so choose a color that coordinates with both.

And there you lot get, that's all in that location is to making these like shooting fish in a barrel crocheted pillows!
